I'm not finding helpful articles on the current crop of Ryzen-based laptops. In the past I have owned, and still own [1] AMD-based laptops and the occasional minitower, and my 2 cents was, consistently: decent performance, lousy chipsets with lousy SATA performance, power-consumptive processors / poor batt life, prone to overheat, driver updates russian-roulette style.... Integrated graphics ok... occasionally great in term of picture quality
So some retail bargain laptops like the Lenovo 15.6 IPS models feature Ryzen processors and look ok on first glance but I'm not finding longer-term reviews. What is the scoop?

The AMD-based computers from mainstream companies don’t get sent out as review units often. You’ll be mostly reliant on user reviews; check the notebook brand subforums here for possible owners lounge threads. So, not too helpful, I know, but it’s the state of things.
