Hey guys!
I just stumbled upon an incredible deal, a friend's friend is selling an enterprise grade Samsung SM843T 980GB SSD for only $431.
I was just wondering: me as a consumer (who is currently trying to pick an OS SSD for his new Clevo P751ZM), is there a point for me to buy this enterprise grade SSD, or should I just stick to the 850 Pro?
Thanks!

Did I miss something? Why sticking to the 850 Pro and paying ~$200 more? I'd grab the SM843T if covered by some warranty.

The read speeds are "meh" by today's standards...
If you *must* buy a Samsung drive, I'd say that 850 Pro is likely a better choice for a laptop.

Yeah, if sticking to Samsung SSD's, the 850 Pro would be my choice over this offer from a 'friends friend'.
Also, doesn't seem like 980GB capacity is possible for this model?

Seems like they added the additional capacity model after that review I found/linked. (I stand corrected; but glad the OP is aware of this now).
Still doesn't seem to offer anything special over an 850 Pro or an SanDisk Extreme Pro except for a few $$ saved. To me, not worth it; I'd rather buy new. -

Yeah after seeing that review, its the 850 Pro or something that is not Samsung.. This drive is junk if your'e not an enterprise user...

Why so much hate for Samsung? What do you guys recommend?
-
No hate whatsoever. It's just that there's no need to purchase an outdated entry-level-server-grade drive unless it's ridiculously cheap.
Samsung 850 Pro, Sandisk Extreme Pro. Crucial MX100.
All depends on how much you want to spend, really. -
