I was wondering to what desktop card could we compare the GTX 260M? I looked at the specs on nvidia but I still don't really see.. Would the GTX 260M be similar to the desktop 9800 GT? or one higher? lower?

Yeah you might as well go with the G92b 9800 GT, with 16 stream processors chopped off of it.
-
GTX-260m = G92B core
9800m gt = G92 core
G92 = 112 stream processers - 65nm
G92B = 128 stream processers - 55nm
Basically they should call the gtx-260m a 9800m GTX+. This is because in desktops they have a 65nm 9800gtx and a 55nm 9800GTX+. Oh and if you were wondering the GTX260m in desktops uses a GT200 core which is way faster then the g92/g92b core -
so performance wise it's a 8800gt/9800gt. -
Alright. My desktop currently has 8800GTX and I was wondering what would be the comparison to my laptop with the GTX 260M.

i didn't know the gtx260m was available for retail yet. what notebook?
-
It's on preorder in the Sager NP8662.
