Hi, Is esata as fast as using a internal sata harddrive? I have an asus m50, and want to use a expresscard esata card with raid 0, such as this http://www.addonics.com/products/host_controller/adexc34-2e.asp. I know one downside is that it requires external power source, but if there any other drawback with such a setup. will i perhaps see a increase cpu utilization from running raid 0 via a expresscard? thanks for any info!

    Yes to the HDD speed.

See this thread for a HDTune result for a Fujitsu 320GB 2.5" HDD in an external enclosure using eSATA (there's also a result for USB 2.0).
