    Hi guys,
I'm considering doing a CPU upgrade for this Fujitsu Siemens laptop, but I'm not sure if he suports Core2Duo, and in case yes, which one...
I already checked the Fujitsu Siemens and the Sis (his chipset) sites, but they are not clear as this concern.
Anyone that have one and already do a CPU upgrade (or not)?
    Thanks in advance.

then you can max out to T9500.

T9300 would be a good choice in regards of price-performance :)

edit: you may want to check the fsb supported by the sis chipset

I made some research, and here I can see (more at the bottom) some laptops with SIS M672 + SIS 968 chipset and with a Core2Duo 800MHz FSB... so can I presume that the Esprimo v5535 will support them too!? Or can depend on other things too?

EDIT: Well... :p I found this now from SIS, it seems that actually they do have support for 800MHz CPU's max, so the question remains, can I upgrade it without any issues?

Then you're good to go :D
I recommend you to update the BIOS to latest version first before changing the processor.

Yes your laptop can take any 800 FSB Core 2 Duo chip.

Best bets are T7500, T8300/T8100 for under 120. 20 bucks more gets you T9300

Just to clear information about Sis chipset capabilities, it can work with 1066Mhz cpu. Asus offer few models with this chipset and optional 1066mhz cpu. Actually I put in this fujitsu P7350 and it worked, but there were some issues with it. It freeze every few hours and I have to shut it off. I suspect that probably beacause of crappy northbridge cooling not sufficient for 1066mhz operation. Now it is working T3200 in it without problems.

darnok - the T3200 runs at 166x12. Meaning you could try a 200Mhz and even a 266Mhz BSEL cpu pinmodded resulting in 2.4Ghz and 3.2Ghz. The latter would probably need a VID voltmod as well. Celerons only run the single VID and multiplier so are easier to work with.

Yeah I know but it's not my laptop. And my brother it's not interested in that kind of stuff. But I will do this one day anyway without telling him :D just because I like do that "things". It's good idea on this chipset because it lacking performance in memory department - single memory, high latency. Rising fsb will lower latency and ram operating with 800mhz instead 667mhz will decrese memory read, write, copy.
