    Experiencing bad bluetooth signal/interference on laptop.

    I recently installed a new wifi network adapter for my laptop because my previous older one can only connect to 2.4GHz wifi.

    However my bluetooth devices now keep disconnecting and the sound keeps cutting out on my BT headphones. I experience bad signal even a few feet away from the laptop. There might be several reasons:

    1) My wireless keyboard and mouse use 2.4Ghz radio frequency and may be making the bluetooth signal worse but I doubt it because I have disconnected them and it has not improved.

    2) My laptop has only 1 internal antenna instead of 2 so maybe the signal is weak. However my wifi signal is good and I have fast download speed so I am not fully sure if this is the culprit. Should I install a second antenna?

    3) The new network adapter is just not working properly and I should instead get a bluetooth USB adapter?

    Try to simply connect the antenna lead to the second terminal on the adapter.

    Also forget the network, reboot the computer and then connect to your network again.

    If you can add a second antenna properly, do so. :)

    Sorry. I'm not sure what you mean by that. Do you mean connect the wire I have to the other hole on the adapter?

    wow! I did what you advised and my bluetooth is working much much better now! Thank you!
    Its very strange how a minor adjustment does wonders.

    Also I have some questions about installing a second antenna:

    1) What kind of antenna should I search for in amazon that would be compatible with my laptop?

    2) My first antenna is located inside the monitor. With the second one, can I just stick it anywhere inside?

    3) Will adding a second antenna drastically improve the sound quality on my BT headphones?

    2) stick it behind the LCD too, where the first one is. One to the left and one in the right to keep them high!
