Well i've seen a sound card i like that allows me to utilise 5.1 on my laptop but it's PCMCIA only and i only have Express Card 54/34 and was wondering what i could do v-v

Also will that be proper 5.1 surround sound?

There is also this one, it's newer:

At this moment, not too many options, unless you want to go with some very professional cards, but they're a lot more expensive and it's more for music production.

I can't see the 5.1 support, i guess there isn't any on that one?

I'm also looking for a express 34 soundcard that can provide 5.1-surround sound.
As i don't thin any PCMCIA-cards will be as good as the express 34-ones out there.

EDIT: Is this any good? http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=209&subcategory=669&product=17751&nav=1
it's USB, and i don't know if USB limits anything or so? It seems kinda pricey!

hmm... you're right, that one doesn't seem to support 5.1, the first one I posted is more powerful, and it's the same spec as the USB version. Turtle Beach also has a USB one that can support 5.1/7.1 surround.

I think i'll buy the x-fi USB-one from creative. It's very cheap over here ($90) and including an IR remote-control :) i'll add a post here later on, on how it works.

the first one sounds the most promising at the moment although i need the addon for it. but i'm sure my mum would get me it :p

EDIT: just looked at the usb one that might be better as it's cheaper.
