    Expresscard or USB to PCMCIA converter?

    Anybody seen something like this before? I know the Expresscard form factor is all wrong, but if there was a solution that involved an external unit that used a dummy expresscard, that would be useful.

    I'm just wondering if I'm forever future-locked into whatever expresscard options may or may not pop up in the market or if there's a good workaround for using PCMCIA/CardBus on 'modern' laptops without the legacy slot.

    I _think_ ive seen USB PCMCIA adaptors but im not sure.

    Most things that have PCMCIA versions should start having ExpressCard versions out soon. PCMCIA is going the same way as AGP/PCI, slowly being phased out. I'm glad my notebook has one of each slot, though ;)

    Yep, I wish dell gave us the either / or as well. I'm still waiting for ExCard sound card options.
