So I brought HP Pavilion dv6t series last December.

It looks like the laptop has a expresscard 54. I just brought a wireless (for at&t card) that is expresscard 34. Do I need an adapter of some sort for it to work for my laptop? if so, where can I get it?

So my laptop remote pc card looks like the second one in the image below and my wireless card looks like the first:

I noticed they are both 26 pins.

it should work but only thing will be that it will be short so taking it out might be problem..but just in case , i would get an adapter... should work 100% if u have the adapter.

Take it back and get a card that fits. Or get the adapter from At&t for free. I wouldn't buy any adapter.

The card isn't going to have a problem being inserted and removed. The only possible problem is that there might be a little side-to-side wiggle.

You do not need an adapter for an ExpressCard/34 card to fit in an ExpressCard/54 slot.

They are the EXACT SAME LENGTH. The difference is the width so your hypothesis is completely incorrect. There is NO need for an adapter at all. Any side to side wiggle will be so insignificant as to be a non factor due to the shape of the slot. It can NOT wiggle enough to break contact or stop working.

Lol. There is no such thing as an adapter for this, and the one is designed to be able to work in the other. Where do people come up with this crap?

That's why it's often times better to NOT post something when you don't know anything about the subject.
