I know expresscard ssd solutions are slow and the trandsend model isnt even fast enuff for readyboot, so I've been looking at the 32gb A-data expresscard ssd which supports readyboot, which to my (lack of) knowledge would make it a faster sdd than the trandsend which doesn't support readyboot. I do not want the card for readyboot at all, I mean the mlc ssd as my primary drive should be pretty zippy. I just wanted another 32gb of space at least as fast as the bandwith as an external usb drive.
Originally I planned on adding a 32gb sd card to sit inside the card reader. The way I remember it, larger SD cards aren't flash but micro hard drives, I thought this would be good for the page file since an ssd has limited writes. Bad news is I found out that on the particular card reader found on the tx2500z, memory cards of any sort don't sit flush with the machine, sd cards or even the smaller xD cards.
Another solution I thought of was to get a expresscard card media reader. Hopefully the cards in this would sit flush and would allow a 32gb sd card or many others including Memory Stick Pro Duo to sit flush, I saw a part on newegg for like $70-$80
Another question would be is how would performance be between the a-data expresscard ssd and a sd in an expresscard card reader?
I'm not looking for ssd performance out of which ever I buy, but rather slightly increased capacity for important isos and pictures, static not changing files.
If I can't come up with a feasible solution I may buy an expresscard tv tuner, might buy it later anyway.
EDIT: Apologize for Dbl. post, not intended.
Expresscard slot to supplement ssd drive? 32gb a-data device, or card reader for page file? (will explain)
