Just bought new Asus Extended warranty through Asus or through Best Buy??
Best Buy was not cheap 250.00 I think

Look into Squaretrade. I currently have a 3 year play for my "bring everywhere light cheap laptop" and it only cost me $40ish.
Of course, they only cover repairs up to the original cost, but it's nice. -
AFAIK, Asus laptops purchased at Best Buy are not qualified for the Asus Extended Warranty. If you want one, you'd either have to pay for Best Buy's in-house extended warranty or get an Asus from another place - specifically authorized Asus resellers.

I don't know if this is still true, but BB warranties usually give you full credit ($$$) to be spent on anything if your device can't be repaired.

Sq trAde may be best bet. Didn't know bb not auth dealer
Extended warranty manufacturer or BB?
