I have been looking around at some of this external laptop batteries. They seem to offer a real good charge time and are not very big. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with such devices. N-charge seems to make the most recongized product but there are a few others out there. I was just really curious.
plus i don't know if this is something possible but do they make any generic 12 cell batteries? I have an acer 8200 and acer does not make anything bigger then the 9 cell for it. any chance another 12 cell would fit it? thanks for any help in advance

I have an Acer myself, so I feel your pain about battery life.
I have not heard about external power supplies for notebooks in recent years -- I remember a chillpad/battery combo being sold aeons ago. You might search that out.
A better idea would be to look into non-OEM batteries for Acer. Unlike mainstream brands like Dell, Gateway, etc, non-OEM batteries are sold for Acer notebooks at a fraction of the cost. Look for higher mAH ratings, but realize that these are not convered under warranty. -
I am not sure if this place has exactly what you are looking for, but you may want to try them. I know that they carry external laptops for many models. Good Luck!

thanks for offering up your help all4mykid. I have checked around alittle about these external battery supplies and the n-charge by valence seems to be the best. they are kind of oddly shaped but the smaller ones weighs under two pounds which is pretty travel friendly. Now I was wondering is it possible to find a generic 12 cell battery for my laptop. Like I mentioned I have an Acer 8204 and acer only makes a 9 cell for it. Could there be a generic 12 cell out there that would fit it ? thanks
