    External Enclosure Question

    Does anyone know from where I can get a guide or something that can help me configure a 3.5 inch HDD with a USB External Enclosure??

    I cant copy files into my HDD. I can only copy files from it!!!!

    Any errors, ie. write protect? Could be cable, power supply or drive configured wrong as in master, slave or cable select. Normally drive will have no jumpers installed; see case manual. It may be easy just to buy case locally then return one when problem found, if not drive.

    No errors. The jumper is put in Cable Select. I tried all configurations. What is write protection??

    The jumper is in cable select? Never seen that configuration in an external drive, you might want to recheck your drive case manual. None of mine use the jumpers...

    Sorry, I meant delayed write failure error. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330174 ..which never helped my USB drive problems ;)

    Have you tried reformatting your external HDD to NTFS?

    What is your enclosure model, some enclosures have funny problems with some of the Hard Drives.It might be it.If you can post the specification - or a link - of the enclosure.

    Its an Intex 3.5 inch External Hard Disk Enclosure. There is no model or anything written on it. It cost me about $13.
