I need a new HDTV for my office so I was thinking about buying a mid sized unit which would also double occasionally as an external display for my DV7 laptop.

    HDTV size between 32-37".
Would like price to be less than $400... refurb okay.
The radeon video card in the notebook supports outputting resolutions up to 1920x1080 so I guess as a start, the HDTV must support that resolution via its' VGA or HDMI input.
The HDTV must also support at least 1080i resolution.
Also want onboard ATSC tuner for OTA HDTV.

    Now for the spec questions:
    Do I want/need 120Hz or will 60Hz do?
How fast response time is good enough(6,5 or 2ms)?
What else is a must have in an HDTV for use as a PC monitor?

Would this HDTV be acceptable for laptop monitor use via its' HDMI or RGB inputs? Vizio E370VA HDTV

Anyone have any suggestions on what to get?

Thanks for any advice and help you can offer!

Perhaps better answered in the accessories sub-forum?

Thought this was better suited for a forum about Hardware and Aftermarket Upgrades than one listed as being for Mice and Backpacks... but frak, if it will make you happy I'll post my plea for help in every single stinkin sub-forum so you can take the time to not answer the question and not help in them all. :p

And double posting is a quick route to getting yourself banned. Next time, use the "report post" feature, asking to have your thread moved. The mods will take care of it.

I wouldn't say quick way to getting banned, but yeah double posting is against the forum rules. Don't worry about it though, it is the first time i see you cross posting so i'm just gonna lock this thread and let the one in accessories stay. Now that you know, don't cross post again though, ignoring this rule repeatedly could net you a temp ban in the end. ;)

Hardware is more for internal components like HDDs, SSD, processors, video cards etc. than for external stuff like mice, monitors and such which is why accessories was created. There is bound to be some overlapping though.
