Suppose I connect 2 external HDDs (A & B) on my notebook through the usb ports and copy data from A to B, will the data directly flow from A to B or is the notebook HDD involved? It obviously seems like the data is moving directly between the external HDDs, but I just wanna know whether the data is actually being moved into the internal HDD and then to the other external HDD or not.

    Direct connection.

Do you see your internal HDD lights going nuts when copying files?
