I got my new WD External HDD today and hooked it up to my old XP machine. Ran the software and everything fine, backed up a lot of music and stuff and closed it all out and then hooked it up to my new dv7t Vista machine. For some reason that I can't figure out, I can't run the software. It just keeps locking up. I've tried downloading the WDSync software from WD site and running it from the laptop, but that doesn't work either.

Any one have suggestions or have this issue?

Have you tried to run the software in Administrative Mode?

Well I fixed the issue, it was more of a problem of Vista not being able to run the software off the drive until I copied the software onto the laptop's hard drive. The software is junk lol. So I just formatted the drive and am just dragging and dropping stuff now. Much easier and faster.

But I do have one question. With all my music collection (~40GB) should I run it from the external drive using WinAMP or should I copy it all over to the laptops main HDD? Any cons to doing this?
