Hi, about to get a laptop. It will have a 60GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive, but I don't think it'd be enough for me. I was going to get an external USB Hard Drive to put multimedia on, and install all games and important applications to the laptop hard drive. There's a very high chance I will use more then the 60GB, so I was just wondering if your able to install games to the external drive and run them from the hard drive, and if there'd be any performance loss etc,.

    Thanks.

Yeah, you can install anything on the external drive like on the internal hard drive.

IMO, it would probably take longer to load your game, but the effect on in-game performance should be minimal, as long as you have plenty of RAM. But of course, it would be best to install your favorite games on the internal hard drive.
