Okay, so, I have these External Harddrives. 1.5tb 5900 RPM.

And I have this 5-bay Raid tower with on-board raid hardware. 2tb 7200 rpm drives, 5 of them in Raid 5. All connected via eSATA cable and through an Express 2-port eSATA card. capable of 3gb/s.

Now copying files from the smaller external drives to the raid tower, I'm only getting 3.5mb/s to 7mb/s transfer rates.

    is wrong?

The PC they are being routed through is a Sager 8850, i7-940xm,8gb 1333MHz ram, GTX480m, Seagate SSD Hybrid Drives x2 in RAID 0.

Why am I only getting about 7mb/s transfer rate? This is going to take 3 days per 1.5tb drive to copy.

    ARGHHHHH!

oh, also, the stripe on the raid drives is 64kb. not sure if that makes a difference. i read 64kb is about the best setting.
