I'm just wondering if an "upgrade" to a 2007FPW would be worth it. Starting a few days from now, Dell will start selling a 20.1" Monitor (like the 2007FPW) for $289...and is only missing a few features (USB Hub, S-Video, Composite Video) that I don't use.

Anyway, I have the 2005FPW now...and I'm wondering if the 2007WFP (or the dummied-down-on-features E207WFP monitor) would have substantial improvements in response times and display quality.

Has anyone seen these two side by side?

I can't imagine it is worth the trouble.

I'd also say no. IIRC, the new Dell budget 20" uses a ChiMei TN 6bit panel... low pixel response times is the only thing it's got going for it.

IIRC the 2005FPW is an IPS panel, I'm not sure about the 2007, but based on the specs I'd say the new cheap one is def. not.
