    Where can I find the best deal on an external optical drive? Dell sells one for $89, but there must be some less expensive models from third-party vendors (that's what I'm hoping, at least)!?

    I'd appreciate any info...thanks!

    Why not just look for a SATA optical drive and use this $13US kit? Optical drive may be sufficiently enclosed already?

    There's other enclosure kits on ebay for JAE50 connectors (PATA) if you want to build your own. The 9.5mm UJ-842/852 giving a nice thin profile.
