    Hey Guys -

I have a alienware M17x (the new one)... It has a realtek sound card...

    My question is...
If I opt to go for a creative sound blaster express slot sound card, such as the sound blaster X-Fi extreme audio http://www.soundblaster.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=873&product=16642&listby=

will I even notice a sound difference from my stock (Alienware M17x) playing music and movies?

I always used to have desktops, and switched to laptops (much better in my opinion) and used to have a creative sound card, and their sound cards for desktop (PCI slot ones) are so good.... It emerses you in the sound, vocals are much more defined (instead the bass and instruments outdoing the vocals...
Will I get this/the "desktop" performance from a Laptop (stated above) sound card?

    thanks guys

EDIT: Or if there is an even better solution for the "best" possible music sound, please do not hesitate from posting... I really do like creative though... I like there apps...

That's actually a good question I'm interested in as well. Like a USB or SSD sound card that'll output a digital signal. Not the LEFT, RIGHT, GROUND audio from the audio out jack and using the AC3 filter to create a pseudo 5.1 output.
