So I upgraded to a pair of Logitech X-240 speakers and they've been working great until lately they've starting to make this buzzing sound when left on that's been driving me crazy. It even buzzes when plugged into any computer. Only time it stops is when I turn it off.
Here they are:

Edit: Maybe its from the sub woofer?

If the speaker setup has attenuation (volume control), too high a setting can amplify feedback and distortion. You need to find the sweet spot between the signal coming from the laptop and the amount of amplification you want.

I also get a buzzing noise from my 2.1's subwoofer (different brand) when the notebooks is powered off. But this sound was there from the beginning; I don't know the cause, maybe you can find out with a bit of googling. Anyways, in my speakers the noise only comes if I increase the sound of the speaker more than half mark. Therefore I normally keep the volume on the speakers low and control it from the PC. Try the same with yours.

I guess there is no solution, except for just selling them. Hopefully I can find a buyer -
shouldnt this be in Accessories section?

External speakers are hit and miss unless you go high end like these.

Found out that this model of speakers is generally faulty
Sold em for really cheap and bought a pair of altec lansings that make a considerable amount of noise.
I hate life -
Where are your speaker cables running? Speaker leads can pick up a considerable amount of noise from electrical lines if they're going past or near your power cables.
What changed before the speakers started buzzing? Remember, moving the computer 1" to the left is classed as a "change", or using different cables, or even someone coming to do work on your home's electrical system. Perhaps you're getting noise from the power source.
Do you have a portable CD player or mp3 player to test the speakers with? Do they make the same buzzing when you put them in a completely different room in your place?
