    Hi Everyone!

I'm looking to attach an external LCD display to my laptop to have a bigger screen to watch movies/play games (I want my privacy.. can't use the family bigscreen tv)

    My laptop specs follow:
    Acer Aspire 6920G - Core 2 Duo 5750 2.0 Ghz
    16" HD LCD screen
512 MB dedicated Nvidia GeForce 9500M GS
    4GB DDR2
    1xHDMI out, 4xUSB, 1xVGA

My 16" LCD laptop screen has a 16:9 widescreen format and its default resultion is 1366x768.

I recently saw the Samsung Lapfit range Samsung LD190G and LD220G

LD190G has a 19 inches screen with native resolution 1360x768
LD220G has a 21.8 inches screen with native resolution 1920x1080 (extra 55 dollars compared with LD190G)

I think19 inches and a native resolution of 1360x760 will look crappy? 22 inches @ 1920x1080 looks better don't you think?

And also I dont think my graphics card can handle recent games at more than 800x600 or 1024x768.. How does this look on a 22 inches screen? is it worth it?

I guess watchin HD movies will be a treat .... but i'm wondering about the gaming experience? Anyone has had similar experience?

    Thanks in advance!

Just because your screen uses 16:9 format, doesn't mean you need to buy a LCD with that same format and/or resolution. Your GPU should be ok with 1024x768. I play older games such as Warcraft 3 with settings maxed at 1280x1024 32-bit but that isn't a very demanding game (actually with lots of units, my CPU is more stressed). There are lots of options for external screens though, so it really depends on your budget, if you do any image editing (that would require a better color gamut), what games you play (some faster FPS require lower response time or else you will have ghosting), etc.
