My newly bought Hitachi Travelstar internal 2.5'' 320GB hard drive does not show up in Vista when used as an external drive. It works fine, however, as an internal drive.

Do I have a bad enclosure? Vista says the drive is working properly but there is no icon for it. I don't know what to do. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Click on Start/Run > type in diskmgmt.msc

See if the drive shows up there. Might need to be initialised
