    Hi
I have got 1 gb extra DDR2 667(5) from my old laptop, and I have bought a new laptop running DDR2 800, but it has got an extra space for 1 gb RAM.
Can I put in the 1 gb DDR2 667(5) into my new laptop which already uses 800 or is that incompatible?

I'm sure it would work but it's likely your 800mhz ram will downclock to 667mhz if you do it.

So it might not give such a good performence boost.

To be sure, can you tell me what chipset the notebook uses or just the notebook brand and model?

ok, both sticks will run at the lower speed (667mhz).

But I'm not really up on nvidia chipsets so I would wait for a second opinion.
