I have an Envy 15 with an Intel 6200 wireless card, and an Asus G1SN with a Intel 3945ABG wireless card, and an Envy 133 (made by Voodoo) with an Intel 4965AGN card, and I also used an iPhone.
I have an SMC 2804WBRP G band wireless router.
My speedtest.net results in the exact same location from all 3 computers and the iphone are as follows:
VooDoo Envy 133: Ping 11ms, Down 9.98, Up 5.48
Asus G1SN: Ping 11ms, Down 10.04, Up 5.57
iPhone: Ping: 37ms, Down 8.62, Up 5.84
HP Envy 15: Ping 11ms, Down 1.01, Up 5.22 (note: that is NOT a typo, 1 mb/s)
Someone at HP obviously needs to be fired. I checked though and I have the latest drivers for my wireless card. Honestly I have no idea, what's wrong. This problem has been going on for weeks every time I try to deal with it. Can anyone help?

Did you update drivers for your Envy? Perhaps your wifi card is crapping out.

The computer is as I bought it driver wise, I've installed no software on it, and I checked for updates and everything is current.
If the computer is a foot away from the router speed does improve though. -
Sounds to me like it might be ka-put on you.
Id try a different card if you can to see if its something software related or hardware related. If the new card works then the current one might be going bad. -

Is it still under warranty. Check it in at an ASP shop to get the wifi card replaced. Otherwise you will need to buy another one OOW, which aren't too expensive.

Hope you find/fix the problem.
My take? The whole is more than a sum of the parts (or, in this case, less).
Try a different wireless router to see if you can find one to play nice with all your devices.
Extremely slow Envy 15 wireless, back to back.
