Which is better to avoid eye strain Glossy or Matte? I intend to watch alot of movies and gaming.
I used to have a matte desktop monitor years ago, it was a really good monitor with bright colours and very high contrast however it did cause me eye strain to the points of tears coming out of my eyes! However I hear from other people that glossy tend to cause eye strain.
What about viewing angles, does one has better then the other?

I used to have a G75VW that came with a matte screen, that was the ugliest screen I had, colors looked grainy, if you look at a website such as google and look close, you will notice specs of the color rainbows, the whole screen appeared as if someone had spilled grease over it. now maybe ASUS suck as making matte screens, nevertheless, I would never in my life buy a matte screen again, the glossy screens look so much better and have crisper colors, in other words, they will obviously give you less eye strain.

    just my 2 cents

i used to always have gloss screens and they always caused eye strain and i have to be careful as im blind in one eye.
my new clevo has a matte standard screen and its the best screen ive ever used and will never go back to gloss.

no matter what screen you use it will cause eye strain if you are on it for hours at a time. if it made your eyes water then thats a warning sign that you need to take a 10 minute break from the screen. and then get your eyes checked.

So I guess it's just ASUS' matte screen suck and others are ok. That's why I posted my experience stating that it was an ASUS crapware Taiwanese cheap plasticy laptop :)
