Hey everyone, I am going be in mechanical engineering at college next year and I was just wandering if it the fx2700m 512mb is worth the money? I have also been looking at a gateway 7805u with a 9800m gts with 1gb but I dont know why the quadro is so much more. They say it is good for CAD and things, which I will be doing alot of work in so what do I do? Does the 9800gts handle the 3d applications just as well?

Basically as far as for an engineering student, what is the better laptop - Gateway 7805u, upgraded processor 2.9ghz, 1gb 9800gts, 4gb ram...or...HP 8730w, 2.53ghz proc, 512mb fx2700m, 2gb ram...both for bout the same price after upgrading the gateway?

Basicly Quadro has better performance in OPENGL applications than GeForce series. I have Quadro FX 3700M/2700M 9800M/8800M GTX, i can do some benchs to compare the difference.
