    Hey guys,

I'm looking for the fastest 2.5" HDD in terms of pure write speed.

I know that Seagates Momentus XT HDDs have an inbuilt SSD cache to accelerate applications and stuff, but I'm looking for an internal HDD for data storage/screen capturing only.

My guess is the Scorpio Black. Anyone knows a faster one?

Nothing faster than the scorpio black as far as i know, the momentus 750GB and the hitachi 7K750 come pretty close and for a data drive, it's not really like it matters much.

Momentus is still only a read cache so yeah the black. Ofc if it's very important then 512GB SSDs are not that expensive these days and would be way faster.

Well true, but I have a Crucial M4 for my OS already. I just need a HDD for storage and recording stuff on, and I went for the Momentus XT 750GB 7200 RPM... I know its not the best in write speed, but I might use it for Steam which will probably benefit from the SSD cache.

Also thanks for the replies guys!

    Seven times more expensive? No.
