Hey guys I gotta youtube channel where I upload madden/ncaa gameplay.
I use a hauppauge HDPVR 1212 to record in AVCHD format 1920x1080 13.5 mbps
The current laptop I have is a Toshiba l505-s5990. It has 3gb ram 320 gb hd and a Intel Core 2 Duo t6500 processor, Win7 32bit

It takes me around one hour to render a 10 minute video in 720p
It takes me around 2 hours to render a 10 minute video in 1080p

My questions are as following... What should I do?

Will a quad core laptop be faster then this one that I have?
Processors? Is my processor good or is it crap? I dont know much about processors.

My other options for laptops are:

    HP Pavilion dv5-1250us
    2.1 GHz AMD Turion X2 ZM-80 dual-core Processor
    8 GB RAM
380 GB hard drive, LightScribe dual-layer DVD drive
Windows Vista Home Premium with SP2 (64-bit version)
ATI Radeon HD 3450 graphics (up to 2302 MB total)

    HP Pavilion g7-1355dx

The CPU in the HP g7 would render a bit faster than your current one. Do you currently own or have access to that computer? What software do you use for rendering?
