I own WD Scorpio Black. Fast real world performance and relatively quiet. Here's my review.

I believe you don't need the FFS version because your T400 already has it. So you can go for one of the BEKT models.

My opinion is the folowing in order of preference:

WD Black(Best) -> Seagate 7200.4 -> Seagate 7200.3 -> Hitachi. Would stay away from the other makers.

Thanks. Does it have 5 years warranty and ship to Canada as well?
Thanks. I'm living in Canada now, so buying in Canada is best choice.

No laptop drives come with a 5 year warranty anyomore
All manufacturers use 1 year or 3 year.

If your in Canada, you may want to look at NCIX for computer parts. I hear Newegg Canada isnt that good.

    Good oprions are the Hitachi 7K320, WD3200BEKT, WD5000BEVT, Hitachi 5K500.B, Seagate 7200.3

5K500.B is a 5400rpm. Just order one from ebay. Has not arrived yet. How about the performance of 5K500.B?

The 5K500.B is on par in performance to the WD5000BEVT. The Hitachi is just more power efficient.
In real life testing, the 5K500.B actually performed faster than the first batch of seagate 7200.4's (the 500gb 7200rpm drives)

Seagate has changed the firmware, but it is unknown if it has made the drive any faster in real life.

The 5K500.B is a very fast drive, you should not be any disappointed in your selection

That was for the 320GB version of the Hitachi 5K500.b and possibly WD5000BEVT and 7200.4
someone had it and the performance was a lot lower than the 500GB model.

    WD3200BEKT 320GB is fast.

    And you was right !
    exactly
they are noisy because of two rotating disks like you said
    500gb and 320GB 2
250GB with one rotation disk is quieter
I want to make test WD vs Fujitsu
but I now result already :)
    WD winning

I'd love to see the results.

Also try to do a real world test, for example: copy and paste a 5GB folder on the same drive and time that by hand.
