    Hello,

I have a VPCCW2S1E/W which I'd like to make a bit faster by changing the CPU. (I'll also change to an SSD and add some RAM but that's another story)

    My Laptop has an Intel® Core™ i3-330M Processor (3M Cache, 2.13 GHz) , and I see: Sockets Supported: BGA1288, PGA988.
After some searching in the intel website, I see there's a slightly faster i5, over here. The difference is not huge but I guess it's a safe bet (temperatures not very different plus I'm hoping the new thermal paste will help).

Anyway, quick question: Is there a way to know my motheboard will support it? (I'm actually on Linux so I guess I have a wide array of software tools to get detailed system info - I tried but I guess that's some info that you can't easily find out..)

Do I just have to risk it?

PS: any idea where do I buy such a CPU? (I'm in Europe)

    Thanks !
