    First laptop upgrades and first laptop

    Well yesterday i got my laptop and i put CSS straight on to it and noticed i cant run even smothly on med/high settings when iv seen on youtube high settings and res. I got a Intel Pentium Dual core 1.46Ghz T2310 and wondering if i upgraded that to T2500 2.0Ghz woulkd help alot?

    Grfx card in is 8400m GS 256 Dedicated :)

    got 2x1GB Ram 553Mhz mybe get 2x2GB 800 Mhz?

    Thanks for looking and hopefully i can speed this laptop up :)

    . you can review and disable many un-needed startup processes (search the forum, there are a few stickies about this subject)
    . i m not sure if you can do anything to improve the gaming experiences with the 8400 gfx. I have a t9300 with this card, and it is not doing a lot in gaming. You might game to visit CSS site for tips
    . enjoy the new comp :)

    hm k thanks but i only have 40 in background =/ including css and CPU seems to be at full load when the game is on and playing so im thinking if there more cpu more framrates and more cpu left over :)

    That is a correct presumption, but like mentioning, i have a T9300 and 4gigo ram, and it did not help me at all. I failed miserably at even 3D Mark test. Maybe some other 8400gfx owners can shed more light to it. Dont get me wrong, many games like CoD2 and AEII play beautifully, on this gfx

    A core 2 duo would be the way to go. A T8300 is probably the best price performance processor available right now, still a T7250 should suffice.

    Your probably limited to using 553Mhz memory but if your running vista then having 3gb of ram will probably be a worthy upgrade. I'll be upgrading my sony by the end of this week or next.

    I got intelPM965 Chipset and Socket P (479) Thanks all for replying fast and helping!

    Atm im on WoW Burning Crusade in the AH and my settings are all high Exept the visual Sync and triple buffering 30 FPS :) on css its only 30 and for a FPS its hard to play unless u got smoth 45-55 FPS.

    Those settings sound about right for WOW on the GS, 1280 x 800 res?

    I looked through laptopsdirect, dabs and ocuk and none of them stock mobile processors! They're the only uk shops i know :eek:

    Try on ebay?

    ya i tryed not many trust me lol its hard to find laptop cpus as i think they only make them inside a laptop =/ but i hope i can find a good one by the time i get paid lol
