same ram is $160 at newegg even with a $25 mir
i want to know if this is about all my vostro can take and what does PC5400 mean?
-
4GB is the max that the V1500 can take. To see all of the 4GB in windows, you will need a 64bit OS.
DDR2 memory module ratings(ie 5300/5400) are calculated by multiplying the clock by eight.
667 * 8 = 5336. Some companies round up to 5400, others down to 5300. There is practically difference between the two.
Also look at Dells support site(support.dell.com) for manuals on how to access this ram slots on the V1500 -
thanks
I was going to upgrade from xp home to vista ultimate 32bit so i could use all of it... so i will still have to get a 64bit OS to use all the memory even if it is vista?
one more question about 64bit... does 32bit progams still run on a 64bit OS. -
-
Yes 64 can run 32bit apps but be carefull sounds like you have gone over the top, do you need?
-
holly hell price went up $110
-
I saw that! Also is it because the US dollar has lost all value??? If so I am not happy, as I will loose buying power!!!
