I have a NVDIA 9600M GT card with flash 10.1 beta installed on my computer. When i was seeing the asteroids HD video, the load on my CPU was about 30% on average. I was wondering if the GPU did acclerate the video as it clocks were not on full 3D...Is it because the 186.81 drivers i'm using do not support flash 10.1 beta? If they don't , is there a way to make them do so? Thanks.

186.xx drivers are quite old. You need 195.xx or later to enable the GPU-acceleration features in Flash 10.1 beta 2.
-
are u 100% sure? The 195 series drivers run very hot so i'm using 186.81 drivers... is there some NVDIA patch or something for older drivers or do i have to get the 195 series drivers?
-
Where is the link for HD video? I might be able to compare it with my system.

just got 195.81 beta drivers... doing allright as far as temps are concerned for now... i'll try the HD accleration soon...
-
doesn't seem to be working... CPU usage is still 30% on average and GPU seems to be on normal clocks... so maybe i'm doing something wrong... is there some method or software u use to measure CPU usage and GPU usage which i don't have?

Are you monitoring your clocks with GPU-Z?
Also, how did you update your drivers? When I updated to 195.62 (now using 195.81 beta) using the standard Nvidia .exe method, it killed SLi. No amount of enabling or forcing it in the Nvidia control panel would make it work. I had to uninstall the drivers completely, run driversweeper, reboot and install.
Nvidia is great for offering so many different driver versions, but come on. Having to do all that just to update some drivers is ridiculous. -
If you did it correctly you should see this when viewing youtube.
195.81 doesn't mean more updated than 195.62.
Sometimes OEM Vendors take a later version number but implement less feature than Nvidia Driver Program

0% Video engine load according to GPU-Z... maybe the video is not full HD... can u give me a link for one which is?
-
Try this one, set the HD button to 1080p:

No change... does put some stress on GPU 1-2% but Video engine load is still 0%... i already installed flash 10.1 and i'll try reinstalling it again...

Any help? Bump plz!
-
Well, if you're getting some GPU activity then I wouldn't expect it to be nearly as high as CPU usage while playing HD video.
-
Shouldn't there be some video engine activity for the GPU? Is there some program other than GPU-Z i can use to see if there is video engine load. Also can someone plz post some pictures of using an NVDIA GPU to play flash accelerated HD videos. Thanks.
-
Bump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
The GPU load number is meaningless in this case. I get 35-45% watching the Asteroid Impact video with unaccelerated Flash 10.0
-
I played the avatar full hd video...i got 28% GPU load and 40-50% CPU load... 0% Video engine load... I'll try 195.62 drivers... hope they work...
-
ok i've tried everything even 195.62 drivers... what do i have to do to make flash player 10.1 to work? Can someone point out the steps they took to ensure there's vidoe engine load ... i always get GPU and memory controller load but 0% video engine load... I also have installed flash player 10.1... can someone post the websites and drivers they used to use flash player 10.1 properly. Thanks.

Bump Plz!!!

Think you need the latest Nvidia beta drivers (link) and Adobe Flash 10.1 beta 2 for it to work.
Does the video load rise if you use MPC - Home Cinema (DXVA) or Splash Media Player 1.1 when you playback for example a 1080p trailer clip? -

You need the right codecs, the right media player, the right video card drivers and the right kind of file. Put it all together and it will work.
However you will not see any benifit from it really since you said your CPU is only 30% load, not until you see 100% and your lagging and need gpu help will it really do you any good.
