Is it possible to force increase the brightness level on an LCD panel. I've never been that happy with the dimness of the display on my ASUS W2v. It seems as though it's getting even dimmer over time. Does this this happen to LCD screens or am I just imagining it?

It's like this, the point where I look at the screen seems fine, but the peripheral area around that point seems to fade out a bit. The viewing angel is more like a cone.

Thanks for any help or advice.

You have to go study with Yoda and become one with the force. Then, once you have mastered your skills young Padawan, concentrate, and use force brightness on your screen.

    Or replace the backlight.

Agreed, you need to deal with the issue with new hardware, rather than using software. You may also want to buy a new screen from a company called ScreenTek, who are very reliable.

    Is ScreenTek really reliable?
I just ordered an LCD Replacement for my Alienware m9700 and the way you order it was kind of weird.....

I'm not too sure, but I'd like to know your opinion..
