Whenever I leave my system on idle for a while and come back I find it frozen. I checked the event logs and found these two:

I checked the event viewer and these two hit:

The Desktop Window Manager is experiencing heavy resource contention.
Scenario : The Desktop Window Manager responsiveness has degraded.

    OpCode: Video Memory Degradation

    AND

The Desktop Window Manager is experiencing heavy resource contention.
Reason : CPU resources are over-utilized.
Diagnosis : A sharp degradation in Desktop Window Manager responsiveness was observed.

    OpCode:Video Memory Responsiveness

Both occurred at the same time...

I think that explains that. I tried installing the latest ATI drivers from the HP site for my 5450 but that didn't help matters out.

Anyone have any ideas as how to fix this? Thanks.

Get something like SysInternals and use the Process Explorer and see what's using DWM and causing it to crash.
