Ok my laptop is like 3.5 years old. Recently, it started acting weird.
When it's on power brick, it get frequent shutdown/blackout which seems to be related to graphics problem (using ati x1600 btw). So i can't even game or surf website with flash without getting blackout.
Now here's the interesting part, if i unplug and run on battery, I've no problem gaming (like fallout 3) or surfing flash website like youtube. Not even a blackout at all.
So is my power brick the culprit though it can still charge my battery?
Would appreciate any helpful remedies to my problem. It's really getting on my nerves.

Borrow another power brick and see if the same thing happens.

gpu overheating?
Could be on ac-only because of the power plan.
Try manually setting a ac power plan that lets the cpu/gpu downclock.
And get a utility that reads AND records cpu/gpu temps. The recording is important as that will let you correlate temps with activity and time.
Temp utilities that provide only 'right-now' information are useless for troubleshooting.
Frequent shutdown on ac power.
