    Hi

    Can anyone help?

I have a stock Fujistu Siemens Amilo Xi546:

    T2500 @ 2.0Ghz
    ATI X1800 graphics card
    1GB RAM

I am using the notebook mainly for 3D gaming, playing Virtual Skipper 4 mainly.

I want to play the version 5 of this game but I need to improve performance first - I can't afford a new machine just now, and the notebooks I can afford aren't going to be massively quicker than mine.

Can anyone help me upgrade my Xi1546?

Should I increase the RAM, if so what RAM should I buy?

Can I increase the performance of my graphics card?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!!!!!

    Cheers

    Scott

you can find out what ram you need on www.crucial.com

and a cpu upgrade could help alot as well. you can identify it with this identifier
    http://www.intel.com/support/processors/tools/frequencyid/
there u can find out how many pins it has(i think), then you can find a compatible upgrade
i think the cpu will do a big difference since yours is a bit outdated. a core 2 duo cpu can do wonders for your gaming.
and as far as gpus go, actually being able to upgrade it depends on the laptop so check for yours here http://www.mxm-upgrade.com/Table.html

Your system supports a maximum of 2 Gb of memory (2 x1GB)
You can upgrade to Pc 5300 sodimm memory clocked at 667Mhz.
You may be able to upgrade your graphics card, but I am not sure if it is the MXM type. Check out the website: mxm-upgrade
a member called ice-tea on here runs the site, and he is very helpful

You can upgrade the processor if you like, but that may not be a very cost effective solution.
