I would like to upgrade the memory of a Fujitsu C2220 which currently has 512mb. It says the max ram allowed is 768mb but I would like to add another 1gb to make the total ram on the laptop 1.25gb. I don't know why the 1gb stick would not work. The type of ram this laptop takes is PC2100 SDRAM 200-PIN SODIMM DDR.
The specific 512 stick is being sold here, but the 1gb stick has the same specs and is being sold here.
Can I put the 1GB Stick into this laptop to make give it 1.25gb of RAM.
Sorry for the double post, but the old one was obsolete and i'm trying to get this done

768mb is an odd number to have as the maximum allowed ram. But if that's true, your computer will only be able to recognize 768mb of ram. You should research if that is indeed the maximum allowed ram and if it is, you will only be able to replace a 256 with a 512.

yeah thats what i thought. but both ram has the same specs
Is there a limit on the amount of RAM the computer will read? I don't see why their would be. I have emailed Fujitsu and they said that is the total RAM allowed but why would it not be able to take a 1gb stick instead of the 512mb stick if they are the same type of RAM?
Anyone ever try pushing the "limit" and having it work? -
anyone ever go beyond the chipsets requirement and have no problems doing it?

Anyone here tried to upgrade c2220's Pentium4 M processor to a better one?
Do you think it's difficult to upgrade the processor?
Thanks in Advance! -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
What Pentium 4-M do you have at the moment?
You can take a look at the guide in my sig for compatible chips.
