Sounds like another Western Digital style half-hearted attempt at entering the SSD market.

If they're serious about defending their market like Samsung is, they should at least make their own controller, if not the entire drive from the flash up to the firmware.

It is expensive, but check out the label. The label is designed so well compare to say corsair force or patriot or intel oem. I would say it even look better than crucial line design.

    Update on price
"The drives will be offered in capacities of 120GB and 240GB with prices of $202 and $427 respectively"

SSDs with decent randoms and ultra low latency CAN make a drive that doesn't score the highest in benchmarks give excellent overall results in real usage.

About 80% of daily disk access is 16K,8K and 4k reads and writes with writes being the larger of the 2.

The high sequential numbers in benchmarks ar important 1% of the time.
