    Hi everybody!

    I have a pi 3560 with fujitsu ef7a motherboard (intel pm45), 2x2gb samsung ddr2 800 mhz (6-6-6-18), T6600 (2.2ghz, fsb800, 2mb l2, R0 stepping) and a geforce gt240m (fixed, not mxm).

I can change the ram and the cpu, but i don't know what can i put in this lappy.

The best ram i found is a kingston kit:
    KHX6400S2ULK2/4G 4GB 800MHz Low-Latency DDR2 CL4
    (Kit of 2 - 2GB) 4-4-4-12 1.8v

It looks good, but i read everywhere it isn't compatible with the pm45 chipset. It is true?

The another question is the processor. Is there any information if this motherboard support the quad core cpu-s? I didn't find any information about this.

Anyway is there any chance that this t6600 can go with 1066mhz fsb if is set it with setfsb? (2933mhz). But i don't know what kind of pll is on this mb.

    Thanks in advance.

edit: uhh i spoilt the title :(

u can easily take a 1066MHz FSB processor due to Pm45 chipset so i suggest u get a T9600 at least.. u can also take P7000 series ones which are crap IMo or P8700/8800... but T9000 series ones are best.. T9600 is cheapest and only 0.2-0.3Ghz slower than the fastest ones which cost way more..... also OCing the T6600 is not an option.. its quite crap .. anyways , i think fujitsu locks PLL so ocing CPU is not possible..

Also really , no point changing RAM... ure only going to get benchmark improvements.. no help in real life... get a new CPU or an SSD..

I know i can put a t9000 series cpu in this board, propably this is the best solution, but i'm very curious if i can take a quad, for example a q9200 (2.4ghz). It seems i can't find any useful information about this on the web.

As for the ram, i have now cl6 ram, this kingston is cl4. This is quite a jump isn't it? I wouldn't feel any change?

yes u wouldn't.. only in benchmarks which isn't worth the extra cost.. as for quads , i would say its a no go.. unless u can find a laptop with same model with quad , dual is best option.. i would seriously consider a Solid state drive.. it will be a super upgrade and make ur laptop feel much snapier.

Then i try to get a t9900 or something later. The SSD's are quite expensive yet.
    Thanks!

the 160GB intel one is quite great and cheap so u might consider that... u can get it for $350-400...
