First time posting here, i'm just seeking advice on how i should proceed with the faulty RAM that i have.
I've got a set of G.Skill memory (F4-2133C15D-32GRS) that i've sent in to RMA once as one stick was DOA, now i got the replacement after 6 weeks and guess what, one of the sticks is DOA again.
I've got no patience to wait second time for an RMA nor do i want to spend another 6€ for shipping the damn ram just to have it turn up dead again, how do i get this resolved the fastest and potentially without any exta cost?

I've solved that by not buying G.Skill RAM. What you've spent till now (including your time + 6+ weeks of waiting are now sunk costs. Trash this and move on.
Buy local, with return privileges. New RAM is tested for at least 24 hours, continuously, before considering putting it into actual use.
At the slightest hiccup, buy another set (and maybe another manufacturer) and return for a full refund.
RAM should just work, it is a commodity for decades now, if it doesn't, don't put up with shoddy manufacturing and wormhole-like online RMA processes. -
Nevermind i've notice that the one stick that i've received faulty has the exact same grease on one of the resistors as the one that i've sent back to them.
Edit: after checking further i can confirm that i've received the exact same faulty stick back (don't know about the good one as it didn't have any significant markings). Aparently all they did was replace a sticker on the RAM to say that it was just made. Shame on them.
Well for me I've not had an issue with G.Skill or RAM in general before, this is the first and i easly buy 40-50 sticks per year.
But looks like once you have trouble they give you the middle finger.
I'm thinking of reaching out to them directly on twitter or facebook, anyone had any success getting actual help from them?Last edited: Dec 10, 2021tilleroftheearth likes this. -
I had zero trouble with any of the G.Skill modules in my desktops or P50. Did you buy the modules new or used?

Yeah well i haven't had any issues except for now.
I bought them new, and one stick didn't work from the box, it just took me some time to figure out what was the problem. -
I had a pair of 4400 CL19 sticks go bad after about 2 years of use. I did the online RMA, explained the failure and trouble shooting I had done, and was given an RMA the next day. Within about 10 days I had a new pair of sticks back in retail packaging. Was a pretty painless RMA, but no communication was given between me shipping to them and me getting them back in the mail. I found that sort of odd, but I have no complaints about how easy their RMA process was.

Yeah i did the online RMA and was given RMA the next day, but after that the similarities ended except the no communication part :S

Ok i've heard back from them and this time they provided a prepaid UPS shipping label for me to use to get the ram back to them.
Crossing fingers it gets resolved this time.Last edited: Dec 23, 2021tilleroftheearth likes this. -
I would get the RMA but also order some different sticks to replace them. When the RMA comes in then sell them and get out of the RMA cycle.
