    I'm planning on getting a gateway P-6301 for $400 ang wanted to know what upgrades i could do.Can I use 4Gb ram and what cpus will work.I plan on keeping my sig but I love the design of gateway laptops and it doesnt hurt to have a backup.

    2GB max according to the official specs. Nothing faster than a Socket P Pentium Dual-Core, either, according to official specs.

    Of course, the GL960 is known for usually taking more memory than specified in the official spec and running any Socket P processors up through the T9500 (800MHz FSB or less). Nonetheless, trying anything outside of the official spec is partially a crapshot, but there is a very good chance it will work.
