    GET AN EXTRA 40min OF BATTERY WITH INTEL GMA!!!

    i recently found on my lenovo y530 that by going to
    start>control panel>List view>intel gma driver for mobile>
    then click on the display settings tab on the left
    then select power savings on the bottom right corner
    raise the bar all the way up to best power savings
    or if you dont mind battery life.. lower it to minimal power savings

    with my laptop at minimal power savings i get ~3 hours
    with it on at best pwr savings i get 3:45 hours !!
    i know its not much but i was just so shocked at the difference!
    45 minutes of internet productivity!

    Just to weigh in; I use it on my EEE with a moderate setting and it is not too bad. I'd rather have the extra battery, but to each his own. I say test it out for yourself :)

    you know, i have seen this mentioned countless times...but in my intel control panel I do NOT have this option. Im using the lates intel x3100 driver for vista.

    I'm using the Intel 4500M and I do not have the option either.

    My Mobile Intel(R) GMA 4500MHD has the option.

    The setting dynamically adjusts the contrast etc so that the screen is easier to read when the LCD backlight is at a darker/lower setting.

    i don't see a battery life difference. haven't run a complete drain test, though.
