i bought my sony vaio c140 2 weeks ago with c2d @ 1.6 + 1gig ram. yesterday i installed counterstrike in order to see how it is to play on a laptop (i want to play some games on it) and when i went to the settings, and chose open gl it would say that my video card doesn't support, and when i tried to change the resolution to 1024 by 768 it wouldn't work either, yet when i pressed wide screen option it immediately changed the resolution to 1280*800.... is just driver related (im sure i have the latest drivers) or does the gma 950 not support open gl at all.... thanks

i think it does, but you should use direct x

Well, the problem is that you have the GMA 950...a card not for gamers. I doubt it will ever work, unless that game is about 3+ years old.

i think its more like 5+ years! this card scores bad even in 3dmark99 so u can see this isnt a card that can handle any modern gaming

I think you don't have proper drivers.
Many games use OpenGL. -

Counterstrike should certainly run on a 950. I mean come on, the game supports software rendering. I used to play it on my old ATI Rage card.
Most likely you have to update your drivers to get decent OpenGL support though. (or you could just run it in Direct3d mode and see if that works better)
GMA 950 not support open gl?
