I have a Dell 9300 with the ATI X300 GPU. I want to upgrade it to the Go 6800. I've read it can be without having to do anything else to the computer.
Can you use any Go 6800 in this laptop. I found one for sale on Ebay but it was out of a different laptop. Are these video cards all the same or designed specifically for different laptops? or are the laptops designed to fit the video card?

If your Mobility X300 is in a graphics card form factor (it is a PCB card), then you should be able to do the upgrade. Graphics cards are specifically for one type of notebook, so it is normally not possible to replace a graphics card from one manufacturer into a notebook from another. When looking for a graphics card, you will have to get one from another Dell 9300.

I am not sure but I think you should take a look at Ebay for a member (of NBR) that sells a 6800Go for his M3438G F&S. I am not sure if it is compatible, but maybe worth to find out.

See here it's defiantly not MXM compatible.
