Hi, I ve recently ordered a laptop with i7 2630qm 8gb of ddr3 1333mhz and 6970m. I was wondering if there is a significant difference between the performances of gaming between the i7 2630qm and the 2720qm.
Also compared to the i7 820qm would I see a significant performance increase for 2630qm?? Also I know this is getting a bit off topic but does CPU tend to bottle first in games or the Gpu?? Thanks

No, should be the GPU that would be the bottleneck.

The 2630QM will be plenty for pretty much any game.

    Passmark CPU benchmark:

    820QM: 3558
    2630QM: 6334
    2720QM: 7144

I'd go with the 2630QM. The 2630 owns the 820.

for games, they wouldnt make much difference. stick with the 2630 and get the best gpu(graphics card) you can afford.

get the 2630QM and yes get a better GPU. Hell the 820QM is also good but the second generation i7 processors are more power efficient etc so you should get 2630QM.
