Hi, I am thinking about getting a Gateway LT3100 with the following specs:
-AMD Athlon 64 Single-Core Processor L110 (1.20 GHz, 512KB L2 cache, 800 MHz FSB
-1 GB DDR2 SDRAM Single Channel Memory
-160GB HDD
-ATI Radeon X1270 Graphics
-802.11b/g Wi-Fi CERTIFIED
-11.6" WXGA High Definition LED back-lit display (1364 x 768 resolution and 16:9 ratio)
I just have a few questions about what I can upgrade:
1. Can I put in a Wireless N wifi card?
2. What is the max amount of RAM that the laptop takes?
3. Would I be able to upgrade the processor to an AMD Turion X2 1.6 ghz, then downclock it to 1.3 ghz to keep the temps down? (I have been talking to this guy on Youtube, and he days that hes done it or in the process of doing it)
So what do you guys think? Does anyone who owns this laptop done any of these upgrades?![]()
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

3 No

But if #3 is a no, then how did this guy do it?
Oh, and how do I know which N wifi card to get? Do you recommend any? -
usually lightweight laptops have their CPUs soldered onto the motherboard. However, it might not be the case with LT3100, and I would be glad to see it that way.
For the wireless, you need to look for a low-profile card, it's about 1/2 size of a normal mini-PCIE, otherwise it won't fit. For example, this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Intel-Wifi-51...in_0?hash=item5d25d8d1c8&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 -
