    Hey Guys,

I have a Gateway MX6429, and I'm having trouble upgrading my Ram to 1.5GB

The ram I'm using was taken out of an old HP Pavilion, so both modules were working. (PC2700 DDR 333).

    I installed the 1GB stick in Bank 1 and a 512MB in bank 2.

Closed everything up and booted the machine.

The BIOS isn't picking up the memory in the 2nd bank... I'm only showing 1GB??

    Any Ideas?

BTW: Windows only sees 960MB due to onboard video, thats why I would like the extra 512... XP Home SP2

    Thanks

Are you sure you inserted the ram properly. Try reseating the ram.
Also try running memtest86 overnight and see if it pick up any errrors.
